Spiffy Business-Ecover Review and Giveaway

Don't you just hate that nasty white film that gets stuck on your dishes after they've been washed. Not sure about you, but it's not only wasting water to re-wash them, but if I don't and I just rub the film off...who knows how much of it is still there that I'm eating. Ick!

Ecover is a natural cleaning product brand with an awesome outlook. They used plant-based and mineral-based ingredients to form fantastic non-chemical products. You'll feel safe using this on your dishes, cleaning your furniture, and scrubbing the floors your toddler crawls on. With over 30 years in the business, Ecover has won many recognitions for their fantastic products such as: 2010 finalist in European Business Awards, 2010 Product of the Year in Belgium, 2011 Best Green Cleaners Kiwi Awards, articles & reviews in many well-known magazines, and many more!

If that doesn't make you excited that there's a company out there that wants you to treat your family well, leaving chemicals in the dust...maybe this will make you more thrilled. :)

I mean, who wants to use a product that you have to wear eye-protection for? Who wants to clean their floor that your child plays on with a product that causes skin irritation? What about all the fake-chemical fragrances that are added, that often cause respiratory irritation? Some chemicals added to products have long-term affects, making you think that they are harmless, but contributing to larger problems later on. These can be "hormone-distruptors" that can lead to decreased fertility for men and women, birth defects, and breast cancer. See? Don't you want to know that the ingredients of the stuff you spray around your home aren't going to harm you?

Two products that I reviewed are:

Rinse Aid-
It makes your dishes shine and gleam! I actually never had used rinse-aid before. (eek! Bad wifey!) But, it definitely made a difference in the sheen of my dishes. I looove pretty dishes! Of the several times I have used it, no residue was left over! It's ok to dump on the fishies (minimum impact on aquatic life) and completely biodegradable. It's good for your septic tank! (the packaging is also totally recyclable and made from sugarcane. Isn't that awesome?)

Dishwashing Tablets-
These fun tablets come in a cute box. You pop open the tab on the side and the individually packaged tablets can be tipped out. They don't leave residue and degrease awesomely! There are no phosphates (high levels make your lakes and streams green and cloudy) and is made from plant-based ingredients. They even disclose *all* the ingredients on their product and website. I love full-disclosure. It makes me trust a company!

Thanks Ecover! I'm converted!

  1. Hi Jasanna! I'm fairly new to your blog but I enjoy reading your posts! I've been eying ecovers products for a while now, but Ive always been devoted to Method for all eco friendly household products until recently when I discovered they added SLS to my favorite shower cleaner. Have you used any other ecover products besides the dishwashing tablets? I'm curious to know how well Ecovers products actually work. Thanks!!

  2. I would LOVE to try the Dishwashing tablets! I've been using Finish which works great BUT leaves a filmy residue. So I have to re-rinse them. Just something wrong with handing a cup to a 3 yr old that is covered in an unknown white film huh?
